Little Red School House Summer Adventure Program
Introduction Welcome to our "Summer Adventure Program" at the Little Red School House. Our exciting fun-filled program caters to children up to nine (9) years of age. Your child will experience a variety of hands-on educational yet entertaining adventures each and every day starting with our "Summer Weekly Themes"
Fields Trips Each month we will plan an "Adventure Outing" off the school grounds for ages 4 years and up. We will visit educational and fun spots such as Sunrock Farm, the Fire Station and other local child-oriented exciting locations.
Speakers Each month speakers will visit our schools. They will range from entertaining to academic. Clowns, lifeguards, story- tellers and much, much more will make one summer adventure after another.
Teacher for the Day Children ages 5 and up are invited to participate in our "Teacher for the Day" program. Children will design lesson plans with our summer adventure staff utilizing their creative thoughts and imagination. Our goal is to make their special day a memorable event. Anything goes from their favorite guest speaker, snacks, games, art and gym activities to a special field trip.
Daily Activities We are very pleased to share an important part of our Summer Adventure Program, our "Daily Features". During each day of the week your child will be involved in a different fun activity. The following is a review of our "Daily Features".
Magic Circle Monday - Children ages 4 and up will participate in a special time of group discussions and sharing thoughts and feelings on various topics.
Amazing Animal Monday - Each week a new animal will be introduced to all of our children through hands on replicas which children can see and hold.
Tasty Tuesday (Every other Tuesday) - Children take an active role in planning, following and preparing a food recipe that will be tasted by all.
Games Galore (Every other Tuesday) - Staff and children will bring in fun games that will rotate with Tasty Tuesday. An example of some of the games the children will be playing are Jenga, Twister, Chutes & Ladders, Candyland, etc.
Wet Wednesday - Water oriented playtime for all ages. Children must bring a bathing suit or a second set of clothes and a towel.
Thrilling Super Science Thursday - Children will participate in performing a child oriented science project each week.
Show & Tell Friday - All children will have an opportunity to show off something special from home to share with their classmates.
Nature & Gardening Gang - Children learn about plants, gardening and environmental issues such as recycling. Fossils, insects, bugs, worms, bird watching, etc. will also be part of our nature activities.

Enrichment Activities In addition to our regularly scheduled activities all of our summer adventure staff will spotlight their own area of special interest or talent with our students. It will range from cheerleading and painting to golfing and volleyball. It's all here at the Little Red School House!
Summary Summer is the time for fun, excitement and allowing your child's imagination to create memorable adventures. Give your child the opportunity to discover the many wonderful activities we have planned for the summer. Our goal is to stimulate the interests of each child, create new and lasting friendships and to insure every child has a summer to remember!
